Ultrasound Biofeedback
Using an ultrasound probe positioned under the chin, we can observe the tongue's movements in real time. This allows us to see exactly how the tongue is positioned to produce speech sounds and to guide clients in adjusting their tongue placement to improve speech sound articulation.
A Tool to Teach and a Tool to Learn
Ultrasound biofeedback is an effective method for learning and acquiring speech sounds. As the clinician works with the client, cues and support are gradually reduced, allowing the client to learn correct tongue positioning. Through repeated practice, the client develops accurate speech sound production, eventually eliminating the need for ultrasound and clinical guidance.
